| Biography |
: Hello and thanks for dropping by. My name is Alex and I have been an amateur since 1987. Like most Hams I didn't want to take the morse test but I certainly wanted to get on the HF bands. So I got stuck in and after six months I got the pass I badly wanted. In those days I only had a long wire slung over the roof. It was extremely difficult to work all the exotic DX I could hear on SSB so I carried on with CW and worked it all that way. The result is that I carried on with the CW and now 75% of my operating is on the key. You certainly get more miles per watt with CW and if you think that this is a big plug for the merits of CW then you are absolutely right. So, go on, give it a go and perhaps like me you will learn a new skill and the world will be your oyster.
I've only just started on the web and this is my first attempt at a web site so please come back again some time and see if I am getting any better at it, hi. Any comments, suggestions and especially help would be most welcome.
